Shipping & Delivery Policy
1. Definitions
For the purposes of this Shipping & Delivery Policy:
- “Supplier” means Decking Wood QLD (DWQ).
- “Client” means the purchaser of Goods.
- “Goods” means all products supplied by the Supplier.
- “Special Orders” means Goods sourced from third-party suppliers specifically to fulfil a Client’s order.
2. Delivery Services
The Supplier provides delivery services for Goods within Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and broader Queensland, including Northern New South Wales.
Delivery methods are determined based on order size, product type, and site access requirements. The Supplier reserves the right to select the most appropriate delivery method for each order.
3. Delivery Timeframes
Deliveries are generally scheduled during standard operating hours:
- Monday to Friday: Business hours
- Saturday: Limited hours (where applicable)
All delivery timeframes are estimates only and are subject to change due to operational requirements, traffic conditions, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. The Supplier does not guarantee specific delivery times.
4. Delivery Conditions
4.1 Deliveries are made to the nearest safe and accessible location at the delivery address, typically driveway or kerbside.
4.2 Final placement of Goods is at the sole discretion of the delivery driver, taking into account safety considerations including, but not limited to:
- Overhead power lines
- Site access restrictions
- Ground conditions
- Traffic hazards
4.3 The Supplier reserves the right to refuse delivery where site conditions are deemed unsafe.
5. Unattended Deliveries
Where the Client authorises the Supplier to deliver Goods to an unattended site, the Goods will be left at the nominated location at the Client’s sole risk.
The Supplier shall not be liable for any loss, theft, or damage to Goods once delivery has been completed.
6. Risk and Responsibility
Risk in the Goods passes to the Client immediately upon delivery or collection.
In the event of damage or destruction of Goods after delivery but prior to transfer of ownership, the Supplier shall be entitled to any insurance proceeds relating to those Goods.
7. Inspection on Delivery
The Client must inspect all Goods at the time of delivery.
Any visible defects, damage, shortages, or discrepancies must be reported to the Supplier in writing prior to acceptance of the Goods. Failure to do so will be deemed acceptance of the Goods as delivered.
8. Special Orders
Special Orders are procured specifically for the Client and are non-cancellable and non-refundable once processing or procurement has commenced.
Delivery timeframes for Special Orders may vary depending on third-party supplier lead times.
9. Access and Site Requirements
The Client is responsible for ensuring that safe and adequate access is available for delivery vehicles.
Where access is restricted or requires special arrangements, the Client must notify the Supplier in advance and provide sufficient details, including photographs or site instructions if required.
Additional charges or alternative delivery methods may apply where special access conditions exist.
10. Delivery Delays
The Supplier shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or consequential loss arising from delays in delivery.
The Client is responsible for scheduling deliveries in advance to avoid project delays.
11. Collection (Pickup)
Where the Client elects to collect Goods:
- Goods must be paid for in full prior to collection.
- Collection times are subject to the Supplier’s operating hours and cut-off periods.
- The Client is responsible for ensuring appropriate load restraint and transport compliance.
The Supplier may assist with loading but accepts no liability for any damage or loss arising during transport.
12. Transport Safety Compliance
The Client must comply with all applicable transport and load restraint regulations, including ensuring that:
- Loads are properly secured using appropriate restraints;
- Weight is evenly distributed;
- Vehicles are not overloaded; and
- Goods are transported safely and legally.
Failure to comply with these requirements is the sole responsibility of the Client.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Supplier shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss or damage arising from delivery, including but not limited to delays, access limitations, or site conditions.
Nothing in this policy excludes any rights or remedies available to the Client under the Australian Consumer Law.
